Pittsburgh Pirates ace Paul Skins is lonely.
Skins started an away game against the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on the 19th (Korea Standard Time) and allowed three hits, one walk, nine strikeouts and one run in eight innings.
It was an overwhelming pitch, and it was natural to be a winning pitcher, but it was not. The team's lineup lost 0-1 without scoring a point and was completely defeated.
Skins, who was drafted by the Pirates as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 draft and made his big league debut last season and won Rookie of the Year, continues to play this season.
He is playing with a 2.44 ERA until the game, but the team is wasting the ace's good pitching with only 3-7 losses in the 10 games he has pitched.
Pittsburgh manager Don Kelly praised the ace for his quality pitching, saying, "I couldn't believe it."
"Fastball looked better today. Off-speed pitches worked well, too. He showed good performance by inducing weak hits. He deserved to win," he said, consoling the team's ace who was not rewarded. 스포츠토토
"I can definitely feel it. My body is getting faster, and maybe my command is getting a little better," Skins said, adding to his current state of being in good shape.
